Water and Sanitation Cell Award
The Water and Sanitation Cell of North 24 Parganas Zilla parishad, conferred an award to JYDC for its phenomenal work in sensitizing 12 schools on water and sanitation. JYDC resourced 3 thoroughly trained sensitizers.
Note of appreciation received from none other than Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, former president of India. In his book “Target 3 Billion” between pages 253-261, Dr. Kalam has elaborated how his concept of an island PURA (Providing Urban Amenities in Rural Areas) can be implemented in this area using JYDC’s example.

“JUDGES AWARD’’ from D.C.USA
As one of the six participating community-based Organizations from the Indian Sundarbans Delta, JYDC successfully carried out the programme of re-introduction of salt Tolerant traditional Rice Varieties, in their areas of operation, in North 24 pgs. The project, undertaken by “ENDEV-A Society for Environment & Development”, as the lead organization, Which was supported by the National Council of Rural Institution (NCRI), Ministry of Human Resource Development, was given the “Judges’ Award” by the international organization called nature Conservancy located in Washington D.C., USA. The Award was based on the findings of the international jury and out of 90 projects from 37 countries, the Award was given to ENDEV and ENDEV on its part has recognized the partnership of all its organization, through a public function in 2014.
